About the Department
The Department of Recreation, Sport, and Exercise Sciences offers two major programs in recreation and sport studies and health promotion and exercise science as well as minor options in health and wellness, recreation and sport studies, and interscholastic athletic administration and coaching.
Our programs have a vast array of concentrations to provide you with the specialized education to pursue your desired career. From coaching to physical therapy, nonprofit work to public health services, the Department of Recreation, Sport, and Exercise Science will prepare you for whichever future is in your sights.

Health Promotion and Exercise Science major
鈥淚n my position, I oversee the therapeutic mentoring and life coaching programs. The Health Promotion and Exercise Science program gave me a better understanding of the importance of fitness, exercise, and health promotion in the development of confidence in relation to overcoming trauma. 海角社区 allowed me to build my skill set to help individuals in need by incorporating exercise and fitness as a coping mechanism.鈥�听
